Movie Review: Cocktail

Blog One Twenty Four

Finally, I was able to watch a movie I was waiting for long. I would usually say for months that I would watch this movie-that movie, but, that never happens. The recent example is Movie: Gangs of Wasseypur.

The movie Cocktail is undoubtedly a cocktail of emotions, love, friendship, sex. The beginning of movie is lame. The first scene of the movie set in airplane was meant for public to laugh, but, unfortunately nobody did; except Saif Ali Khan and may be director of the movie.

My soul reason to watch this movie was Diana Penty- who looked charming and beautiful throughout the movie. NO,NO I only said beautiful not hot. Read again. B.E.U.T.I.F.U.L. Deepika was just same throughout the movie and so was Saif. There was not much charm in the later-two to talk about.

The movie revolves around Veronica (Deepika), Meera (Diana) and that GUY (ops I forgot his screen name) Saif Ali Khan. It is a love-triangle between these three. (And this is the maximum story I can share).

Movie is good in first half, but, fails badly in second half. The music is awesome and the ‘Angrezi Beat’ filmed on Veronica by Honey Singh sounds great. Saif Ali Khan’s tricks to flatter women are old just like him. They don’t have much strength even to impress a nincompoop or a size-zero Indian, blonde, African, American, White woman. (Yes, Kareena is an exception).

The second part of the movie is just reverse of first part in terms of how fast the first part is and how fresh it looks. The second part sucks and so does Deepika. She looks obnoxious in later part.

Before watching this movie I was reading somewhere that this movie has a great relevance with movie: Love Ajj Kal and it is somewhat a sequel. I really can’t talk about that part: I haven’t watched the later.

The movie has a fairy tail ending; in a new style.

Final words: Cocktail can be avoided. Seriously.

P.S.: If you are wondering why did I write this review as I am not a movie star, not a film critic, nor this blog has any relation to Poonam Pandey. Let me answer you: I am a common man, yeah just like you. I share the same idea as yours behind watching a movie- I (we) should enjoy it. The difference is I choose to share my experience. Thank you. And one last thing, if you liked this blog- how about dropping a comment? Or if you’re among those people who tend to dislike this blog- still drop a comment. Much appreciate.
